truecrypt is an excellent software open source , why It stopped development ? ?
shortage of money ??? or other things .
Windows stopped supporting some of its components for some reason!!!
Microsoft???
Yes , the same company that gave us Windows 95 (in 96), 95B (in 97), 98 (in early 98), 98SE (in late98) , and ME, 2000, and XP, all in one and one half years between late 99 and early 2001. And I didn’t list NT 4 and all 6 service packs between 96 and 99. It was replaced with 2000 professional, and one year later by XP professional. Then Vista, 8.0, 8.1 and 10 , the last three as competition for the Chrome OS. I still use 7 SP1 and have no problems. Most software developers are still writing code for 7, and maybe it will work in 10….or not. And now they want to make sure that Bitlocker is the only game in town. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Truecrypt works, and until someone can prove to me that it’s been compromised I’ll stick with it. When used in conjunction with VPN, Firefox, start.duckduckgo, Onion browser (Tor), and Proton Mail, which I am setting up now, I feel that my electronic life will remain private.
No one knows why, but this will more than likely still be the best hard drive and file encryption software available for a very long time to come. I’m not switching over to anything they recommended 🙂
Why it stopped development? Mostly likely because the creator is a mass-murdering drug-cartel boss that ran an international assassination team and got caught.

All the more reason to trust it. Hypothetically, a criminal mastermind with a strong computer science background would definitely want to have the most secure encryption tools, and the last version to be publicly released that allowed volume creation has had its source code fully audited. Very convenient for all us normals who just want to keep our financial data and password files secure even if our hard drive or laptop gets stolen.
Paul LeRoux did not have any involvement with the foundation. He did provide us with E4M however, No more.
It was probably stopped development because the ongoing theory is that the owner is Paul Le Roux, the mass-murdering drug-cartel boss, and is currently being held by US Authorities.

Because they were forced by government agencies!
For what it is worth.
April 2012. Operation Adambomb.
Have a document in my possession where the tech people of some special agency state they will not be capable to decrypt
Can’t recall what version used, the system disk was encrypted. The software used in operations was located on a pendrive that was also encrypted with Truecrypt. there was a second password to open up a bogus secondary encrypted diskspace. release must be prior to apr 2012

To get it to install on current versions of MAC you must do this. We have ensured we will always be able to provide hot-fix solution for upcoming OS’s however there will be no more releases. As long as there is X86 architecture there will be TC.
Step 1: Copy the mpkg from inside the downloaded disk image onto your Desktop.
Step 2: Right click the mpkg file and choose Show Package Contents, then open the contents of the folder.
Step 3: Open distribution.dist with a text editor
Step 4: Remove lines 13 to 18.
Step 5: Save the file and open the mpkg normally.
